Farm Credit of Southern Colorado (FCSC) is seeking an Appraisal Assistant I to join our team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for researching sales and market data. The intention of this position is a true assistant to our Appraisal department. This position is full time and is benefits eligible.

Position Purpose

The Appraisal Assistant researches sales and market data and maintains the association appraisal department sales database; reviews appraisal request for complete information and starts work files. The Appraisal Assistant will be responsible for market data research, real property appraisal services and chattel appraisal services. This position will provide support and assistance to our existing Appraisal team. Research and assignments are primarily office / computer based, with some travel required.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Researches comparable sales, market and neighborhood data, cost and income information
  • Contacts buyers, sellers, realtors, attorneys and government offices to obtain sales information
  • Maintains a listing of all sales, neighborhood data and cost information in assigned market area
  • Confirms, analyzes and enters sales data in software forms
  • Researches property characteristics and data for accuracy
  • Figuring Replacement Cost New (RCN) for property buildings
  • Prepare maps including researching legal descriptions
  • Assists in water rights research
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Automated Valuation Form (AVF) program to include completing AVF valuations as needed
  • Prepare documents for the engagement of fee appraisals
  • Researches and documents values for personal property
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS

  • Associates Degree or An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties.
  • General knowledge of agriculture production, supply and processing practices, and construction materials and techniques
  • Skill in researching data
  • Working knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook sufficient to create, update and save a variety of documents
  • Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
  • Skill in focusing and concentrating on details
  • Skill in utilizing a systematic approach to problem solving
  • Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and borrowers
  • Skill in providing customer service
  • Skill in working independently
  • Skill in utilizing time in an efficient and effective manner and prioritizing assignments
  • Skill in recognizing and maintaining confidential information

Salary Range: $40,000- $50,000.

This range is a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. Actual salaries could vary and may be above or below the range as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2. Variation is based on various factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. In addition, benefits for this position include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k, tax advantage accounts, paid vacation, sick leave and parental leave. An annual incentive may also be earned based on organizational and personal performance.
